I have started receiving emails asking about summer art camps. In addition to the list of locations below, I will also be hosting a few camps here at Hyde Park. If you are interested in one-on-one or smaller group sessions, please feel free to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org! For current 5th graders, Mrs. Ayres will be hosting middle school camps for incoming sixth-eighth graders June 19-23 and July 24-28.
Hyde Park: I will be teaching 3 camps here this summer. They will be split into morning and afternoon sessions. For the first 2 weeks, mornings will be for incoming second and third graders. Afternoons will be for incoming fourth and fifth graders. Art, Yoga, and Cheer will be offered to incoming second-eighth graders. Ms. Crews and Ms. Kirkpatrick will be my co-teachers.
June 5-9 ANIMAL ART: Lions, tigers, and bears! Oh my! Come explore the many sizes, shapes, and textures of different animals through art. We will spend the week creating animal themed projects using drawing, painting, collage, printmaking, and sculpture.
June 12-16 POP ART: Inspired by art icons like Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, and Claes Oldenburg campers will draw, paint, print, and sculpt their way through the week. This bold and colorful art movement was influenced by popular culture during the late 1950s and early 1960s. We will find influences through our own modern culture as well as mimic their original themes.
July 17-21 ART, YOGA & CHEER: Partnering up with Ms. Crews and Ms. Kirkpatrick, this week will offer a combined morning of yoga and art, and afternoon of cheer and art. Both sessions will be open to all age groups.
