The third grade created these prints in three steps. The first step was to paint a 12 x 18 piece of paper with watercolor. After they dried, the paintings were cut into 12 equal pieces pieces. Then, they each designed a printing plate using foam (similar to a styrofoam plate) and a ballpoint pen. They used this plate to print on each of their painted pieces. After those dried, the finishing touch was to complement their designs with oil pastel.
