For their lions, the students cut out a shape on a separate piece of paper, then lightly taped it in the center of a larger paper. Then, we went wild with crayons, coloring all over the page to create the mane. We talked about how we could scribble out lines in certain directions for a more realistic texture. After removing the separate piece of paper, we were left with white faces and colorful manes. We drew the faces and ears with black sharpie, then colored in the faces.
