Chinese New Year Dragons

In honor of Chinese New Year being celebrated this Saturday, the first graders made these dragons. While 2017 is the year of the rooster, dragons are a traditional symbol that represent power, strength, and good luck in the coming months. The students began by drawing their dragons on red construction paper with permanent marker and construction paper crayons.  Then, they cut them out, glued them onto a background, and had the option of adding tissue paper flames.
