Indian Corn

5th Grade_archive

The fifth grade created these Indian corn studies as an introduction to still life drawing.  We began with an outline in pencil, then drew the details with permanent marker.  We talked about how paying close attention to the shape, size, and proximity of the kernels would help us accomplish a more realistic look. To achieve the corn’s trademark calico colors, they used colored pencils to shade everything in.
