Salt Paintings

The 4K students created these paintings using glue and salt. They began by squirting glue in overlapping loops all over their paper.  Then, while the glue was still wet, they sprinkled table salt all over. We shook off the extra salt and let them dry for about 10 minutes.  Then, we used water activated tempera bricks (heavy on the water) to paint.  By dabbing the paint on gently, the salt absorbs the water creating a spreading affect.
