Pop Art Adjectives

The third grade took inspiration from artist Jasper Johns to create these pop art adjectives. They used a word that they associate with themselves as the subject. They started by folding a piece of paper into 8 equal rectangles. Then, they wrote their words in oil pastel so that each letter was in a separate box. If the word was longer than 8 letters, they only wrote the letters that would fit. If it was shorter than 8, they repeated letters until all of the boxes were filled. Once the letters were written, we filled in the backgrounds with tempera paint.
