The kindergarten students made cardinal puppets. We began by sewing the two sides of the body together. I pre-punched holes and tied the end of a piece of yarn to the first hole. They worked their way around, focusing on getting the needle (masking tape wrapped around the end of the yarn) through each hole. We cut out shapes for the face, eyes, beak, wings, and tail and glued them down. Each one turned out in their own unique way.
