Paper Bag Owls

The first grade students made these paper bag owls. We used crayons to color the bodies on both sides. Their heads were on the open end and the feet at the base.  Then, we attached wings made from colored construction paper to the front side creases of their bag. Next, we crumpled up pieces of paper towel and gently stuffed the bags until they were almost full. To finish them, we cut a small slit at the center of both open sides of the bag. We folded them at an angle to create “owl ears” and stapled them shut.
